Age brackets for the divisions of play are as follows:

T-Ball: 5-6

Rookie: 7-8

Junior: 9-10

Minors: 11-12

Majors: 13-15

 

New Age Eligibility Guidelines for 2024 Season.
For the 2024 season, the rules are changing. USA Softball has changed the age eligibility requirements for the 2024 season and FGS and our SSC cohort will follow this change for our events. Most major softball organizations in the country are following this new guideline.

Age eligibility run from 9/1 to 8/31 each year.

Match month and birth year to determine the player's age eligibility.

A player’s age as of August 31, 2023 determines the age at which the player is eligible to play for the 2024 season (9/1/23 to 8/31/24).

If a team is short players to fill out a team in any division, younger girls who are registered may be permitted to play on the team (play up). This applies whether the shortage is for the entire season or temporary because of vacations, illness, etc. (EXCEPTIONS: If a girl's parent or guardian wishes a girl to play out of her age bracket, the parent or guardian may petition in writing the Board of the Frankfort Girls Softball for an exception for the girl to play one level up or down. The Board will consider the petition and rule on the requested exception. The Board's ruling is final and by requesting the exception the parent or guardian agrees to waive, release and forever discharge any and all claims present or future which may accrue to them against Frankfort Girls Softball, all co-operating agencies, their representatives, agents, officers, directors and/or assigns.)
